| The Zohar Prediction Of Armegeddon The following is taken from the new edition of the Zohar published by The Kabbalah Centre International, Inc. edited and compiled by Rabbi Michael Berg with commentary (in capital letters) from Rav Yehuda Ashlag. I will provide my comments on the text following it. 476. THE CHILDREN OF YISRAEL SHALL BE REDEEMED FROM EXILE BY THE VAV (=6), WHICH REPRESENTS THE SIXTH MILLENIUM…. 478. In the year 66, the King Messiah will appear in the land of Galilee AND IS CALLED MESSIAH BEN JOSEPH. HE WILL THEREFORE APPEAR IN THE GALILEE, IN THE POSSESSION OF JOSEPH. A star from the east will swallow up seven stars from the north, and a flame of black fire will be suspended from the heavens for sixty days. Wars will be begun in the world from the north and two kings will fall in these wars. 479. And all the nations will be united against the daughters of Jacob, in order to drive her out of this world. And of that time it is written: “And it is a time of trouble for Jacob, but out of it he shall be saved.” (Yirmeyah 30:7). Then all the souls shall be gone from the body; they will have to come back and be renewed. And your proof is the verse: “All the souls of the house of Jacob that cam into Egypt…were 66.” (Beresheet 46:26) 480. In the 73rd year, THAT IS, SEVEN YEARS AFTER MESSIAH BEN JOSEPH WAS REVEALED, all the kings of the world shall assemble in the great city of Rome. And the Holy One, blessed be He. will shower fire and hail and meteoric stones upon them, until they are wiped out from the world. And only those kings who did not go to Rome w ill remain in the world. And they shall return and wage other wars. During this time, the King Messiah will declare himself throughout the whole world. and many nations will gather around him together with many armies from all comers of the world. And all the children of Yisrael will assemble together in their places. 481. When the century is completed. the vav will join the hei. And "they shall bring all your brethren out of all the nations for an offering to Hashem" (Yeshayah 66:20). THIS IS WHEN THEY SHALL BE GATHERED FROM THE DIASPORA. The children of Ishmael - WHO ARE THE HEAD (ALSO: LEADERS) OF ALL THE FORCES OF THE KLIPAH FROM THE RIGHT, AS ROME IS FOR THE LEFT - shall join together at that time with all the nations of the world WHO HAVE NOT GONE TO ROME and come to Jerusalem to wage war, as it is written: "For I will gather all nations against Jerusalem to battle" (Zecharyah 14:2): "The kings of the earth stand up and the rulers take counsel together against Hashem and against his annointed" (Tehilim 2:2); and, "he that sits in heaven laughs, Hashem has them in derision." (Tehilim 2:4) 482. After ALL THE FORCES OF THE OTHER SIDE, THE RIGHT AND THE LEFT, ARE WIPED OUT OF THE WORLD, the small Vav. WHICH IS YESOD OF ZEIR ANPIN. will join THE HEI and renew old souls - NAMELY ALL THE SOULS THAT WERE IN A BODY SINCE THE CREATION OF THE WORLD - in order to renew the world, WHICH IS MALCHUT. As it is written: "let Hashem rejoice in His works." and: "May the glory of Hashem endure forever" (Tehilim 104:31). WHICH MEANS THAT in order FOR THE HEI to join THE VAV properly. "let Hashem rejoice in His works." Let him bring HIS WORKS down. REFERRING TO THE RENEWED SOULS. into the world, so they all become new creatures and all the worlds are united. 483. Happy are all those who shall remain in the world at the end of the sixth millennium and enter the Shabbat. WHICH IS THE SEVENTH MILLENNIUM - Because that is a "day" for Hashem alone to join THE HEI properly, and cull new souls IN ORDER TO BRING THEM into the world. THIS REFERS TO THE SOULS THAT HAVE NOT YET COME INTO THE WORLD, together with THE RENEWED SOULS that have been there from the beginning, as it is written: "And it shall come to pass. that he that is left in Zion, and he that remains in Jerusalem, shall be called holy. everyone that is written for life in Jerusalem. (Zohar V3 484-487) This is from the November 15th Torah reading entitled Vayera. This section of Genesis includes the binding and near sacrifice (some stories say he was sacrificed and resurrected) of Isaac by Abraham. This story is considered by some to be deeply symbolic and representative of the Messiah and hence the placement of this prophecy in this section. Historically, the Zohar was supposed to have been originally written by Rabbi Shimon bar Yochai towards the beginning of the 2nd Century. This would have placed it about the time of the writing of Revelation as well. Since this is a much smaller portion of a larger work and based on an oral tradition dating back much further than the written date, it is likely, though not conclusive, that the writer(s) of Revelation were familiar with this prophecy as the basis for the expanded version described in Revelation. At any rate, I am taken by the similarities in concept to the Armageddon prophecies in Revelation of the Christian scriptures, but I am also taken by another aspect of this – the date. This year (2003-2004) is the year 5764 in the Hebrew calendar. According to the prophecy, the Messiah will first be revealed in 66. In 73 there will be the great destruction of the Kings in Rome and essentially the beginning of Armageddon. If we correlate this with 5766 and 5773 that would place the start of Armageddon and the rain of fiery meteorites on Rome in the year 2012, which is a very significant year for prophecy. This is the year the Mayan calendar ends. There are Hopi prophecies of world transformation at this time, and the reappearance of Zecharia Sitchin’s 12th planet is scheduled for about that time. It is possible that this planet’s disturbance of our system could be the cause for the fiery meteorites in the prophecy above. I present this as food for thought and hopefully discussion. Also consider this. If the Messiah does present him or herself in the year 66 (5766 Hebrew Calendar or 2005-2006 ours) and if that appearance should happen to be in the sixth month, and if that Messiah doesn’t seem to be the same Messiah worshipped by the Christian church, he/she might well be viewed as a threat to organized religious Christianity and therefore labeled as Anti-Christ. Also consider the importance of the letter vav in the redemption of Israel, which has the numerical value of 6. If we consider that Israel has been “destroyed” and “redeemed” twice in history before now: once by the Babylonians and once by the Romans and if Armageddon is the final attempt at this, you could say Israel has been saved by vav 3 times or by 6 three times. Again, ask yourself, is it possible that early church leaders familiar with this prophecy might have wanted to protect their religious system by labeling the opposition as The Beast? Buckle your seat belts ladies and gentlemen, it’s going to be a bumpy ride. |
